Yesterday we published some of our thoughts and takeaways from the 2012 Mid America Truck Show. Today, we wanted to share some pictures from the event. Enjoy!
Kalmar/Cargotec will have quite the spread at the Mid America Truck Show
The Mid America Truck show begins today.
We blogged about the details last week here. Most years Louisville Switching joins our Nashville counterparts in the world of Ottawa/Kalmar to man the booth so to speak. We usually have one of our newer model Kalmar trucks, or a really nice rehabbed Ottawa Terminal Tractor. This year, Alley-Cassetty and Kalmar/Cargotec are bringing in three different trucks, including a gas powered truck, and we’ll have a much bigger booth.
While we won’t have a spread like Peter Built, Mack or Cummins, we are stepping it up a notch.
If you’re a client, vendor, supplier or partner attending the show, please stop by and say hi. One of our favorite parts of the show each year is connecting with industry friends. The truck show has a pdf of the floor plan available. You’ll have to zoom in at least 10-15 times in order to see anything, but it’s very helpful in finding your way around.
So come on out to the Mid America Truck show Thursday, Friday, or Saturday and participate in one of the largest events to come to the midwest each year.
P.S. Go Cats and go Cards!
We’ll see you at the Mid America Truck Show
It’s time once again for the Mid America Truck Show in Louisville. This yearly event is always a crowd-pleaser for those in the trucking industry. It’s also one of the biggest events in Louisville, bringing over 70,000 trucking professionals to the state!
This year’s event runs from March 22-24 at the Kentucky Fair & Expo Center.
This is typically the largest show held in Louisville, Kentucky. If you’ve never been, it’s a lot to take in. Louisville Switching Truck Sales will set up a booth with Alley-Cassetty and Kalmar/Cargotec and will be on-site all weekend to talk with attendees and answer any questions they may have.
The show is always a great place to see old friends in the industry, form new relationships as we do each year, and engage with the trucking community.

Record snowfall equals a good time to buy automatic ice-chains for your fleet
Our leaves have turned into a beautiful panorama of colors. The air is crisp and clean. Our friends in New England were inundated with snow last week. I was reflecting on the change of seasons and decided to walk back to share my reflections with Butch.
I was prepared to share my thoughts if I could have found him. He was hidden behind a mountain of new Insta-Chains sets and parts that had just arrived. I don’t know how long it took to unload this shipment, but it had to be a while. Even longer to put it all away.
The sides of the building are bulging at the seams with all of this stock that we have now. No need to worry though, because as soon as we have the first snowfall or the roads are covered with ice, these chains will be leaving as fast as they came in.
Here is a thought to consider. You can avoid the rush by ordering now, and you will be prepared when the bad weather arrives instead of being one of those that is stuck in a ditch wishing that you had already installed them.
If you are not sure how they work, then check out this video. They are amazing to say the least …
I think I will make another attempt to find Butch and make sure that he is still able to get out of his office. I better take my lunch with me. This may take awhile.

2010 Mid America Truck Show update
We had a last minute chance to participate in the 2010 Mid America Truck Show this past March and we jumped on it. Normally we have a booth each year in partnership with another Ottawa Truck Dealer and with some assistance from our dealer sponsors as well. Well with the state of the economy it appeared that we may have to sit this one out. However, Chris Troutt, our amazing salesman and jack of many trades pulled together a plan, a booth and a last minute show-truck.
Anyway here are a few of the pictures we captured and a short videos. The best video of the day was an impromptu testimonials from a former Ottawa truck operator. He gave some glowing recommendations and we promise he wasn’t paid
We enjoyed the show as always and we’re looking forward to next year. One little known fact that we thought might be of interest is that the organizers of the show at the Ky Fair Grounds lease our Ottawa Terminal Tractors to deliver all the trailers into the North, South and West wings.
